Established engineering firm seeks a highly skilled and motivated Forklift Engineer / Fitter. Your role will involve the full repair, refurbishment, and maintenance of heavy-handling machinery. You will be a well-rounded engineer with experience across various engineering disciplines, including mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and Refurbishment: Fully repair and refurbish forklifts and other heavy-handling equipment, working both in workshops and on-site.
  • Diagnostics: Use schematic drawings and machine manuals to diagnose and identify faults, ensuring all machinery is in optimal working condition.
  • Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including servicing, part replacements, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Level 3 Qualification in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experienced Forklift Engineer Fitter.
  • At least 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong emphasis on forklift repair.
  • Proficient in using mechanical power tools, workshop machinery, and capable of working offsite with minimal equipment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to identify and repair faulty components.
  • Compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Driving License.

The role will suit individuals currently working as Forklift Engineer Fitter, Dock Equipment Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Vehicle Mechanic and be living within a commutable distance of Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire, Goole, Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Beverley, Hornsea or be willing to relocate.
