Main objectives are to install and maintain high-tech manufacturing equipment (CAD/CAM hardware & software) at customer sites across Southern England. Occasional trips further afield across the UK and Ireland may be required from time to time. Overnight stays away from home are part of this role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represent the company in a positive & professional manner at all times
- Install CAD/CAM equipment
- Upgrade CAD/CAM software
- Provide preventive & corrective maintenance
- Provide technical diagnostics & troubleshooting to electro-mechanical systems
- Provide technical diagnostics & troubleshooting capabilities on PCs, including Windows operating systems & PC hardware
- Provide basic training to customer operatives
Education and/or Experience:
Minimum BTEC National Certificate or ONC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering with good electrical, electronics and IT knowledge. 5 years experience as a Field Service Engineer or in Customer Service Department in a high-tech sector.
Skills Required:
- Good mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and electronic knowledge
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM equipment, automation and robotics systems
- CAD/CAM software knowledge
- Good IT & software knowledge on all Windows platforms
- Strong communication and Customer Service skills
- Sound ability to effectively troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electronic and electrical systems
- Skills to install & rebuild Windows software & troubleshoot software & PC faults
- Customer oriented with a willingness to maximise customer satisfaction
The role will suit individuals currently working as a Field Service Engineer – Machinery, Field Service Engineer – Manufacturing Equipment, CNC Operator, Mechanical Engineer and be living within a commutable distance of Luton, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Bedford, Stevenage, Bishops Stortford, Aylesbury, Banbury or be willing to relocate.
