Well established global farming equipment supplier has an opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager based in the South West (Devon or Cornwall) to cover the West Country and occasionally further afield.
As part of the UK Sales team reporting to the UK Sales Manager you will visit farms and be responsible for sales in your area. Your main task is new customer acquisition. You will work through the whole sales process from lead generation through to closing the sale. You are fully responsible for the revenue in your area and the development of market penetration. A main part of your role will be cold approaches to Farmers to establish profitable business relationships
You will have an agricultural sales or similar background, have self-confidence and consider yourself a hunter who is motivated to beat their targets. You have a passion for innovative technology and are an excellent communicator. You are comfortable selling to Farmers. You have a strong customer orientation and service mentality. You are experienced in using computer software such Microsoft Office and CRM software and you like to travel regularly from your home office, including some overnight stays
The role will suit individuals currently working as Sales Manager, Sales Executive, Business Development Manager, Account Manager and be living within a commutable distance of Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset – Exeter, Plymouth, Barnstable, Falmouth, Torquay, Launceston, Bodmin, Truro, Newquay, Taunton, Bridgwater or be willing to relocate.
