We\’re looking for a Head of PMO to lead our Professional Services Portfolio Management Office

  • setting standards, shaping portfolio practice and turning data into decisions that help teams deliver at pace.

The opportunity You\’ll lead and develop a high-performing PMO (including line management of Project Support Officers), partner with c.30 Portfolio Project Managers, and provide governance oversight across a varied delivery portfolio.

You\’ll own portfolio processes, controls and reporting; craft executive-ready insights and dashboards; and ensure our data quality enables confident decisions.

You\’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, translating complex delivery data into clear actions and outcomes.

What you\’ll do

  • Run the PMO: standards, gating, controls and continuous improvement.
  • Build utilisation, performance and benefits reporting; produce board-level MI and minutes/actions.
  • Drive portfolio planning, dependency/risk management and resource forecasting.
  • Challenge financial variances, support business cases and assure delivery milestones.
  • Coach, support and upskill PSOs and delivery leaders; champion lessons learned.
  • Maintain high data quality across tools to enable predictive analytics and early-warning insights.

What you\’ll bring

  • Senior PMO leadership in complex environments, with strong stakeholder influence.
  • Depth in RAID, change control, benefits realisation and resource management.
  • Advanced analytics skills: Excel (pivots), Power BI (exec dashboards); familiarity with Precursive ideal.
  • Working knowledge of MS Project, Jira/Confluence, PSA (OpenAir/Precursive) and PPM tools (e.g., Monday.com). PRINCE2 (essential); Agile exposure (APM Agile/SAFe) desirable.
