Glasgow / Hybrid – 3 days a week on site

Systal are looking for an Application Support Engineer to complete a growing Operational Trading Support Team. The current Global Energy Management (GEM) Trading Support Team is expanding. This increased capacity will allow you to join a team that is providing incident management, project testing, project deployment and service improvements.

As an Application Support Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring that critical trading systems are stable and efficient. You will also be responsible for developing and delivering service improvements across the GEM Trading Business, identifying areas that can be enhanced and improved. Working collaboratively with other 3rd party vendors you will help deliver secure, high quality systems that will ensure the team have the best possible data to allow them to be competitive in the ETRM arena.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide end-to-end application support for a large set of Business Users across a suite of Web and client based applications
  • Monitor Production environments for issues and process failures.
  • Respond to and resolve issues and incidents raised by Business Users
  • Escalate and communicate issues to business users and service delivery where necessary in order to restore services quickly and within documented SLAs

Who are we looking for?

  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving user incidents across Information Technology Services
  • Experience in assessing, designing and implementing service improvements to users
  • Experience mentoring junior Application Support Team Engineers

Exposure to the following technologies:

  • .Net
  • Tibco Middleware (Business Works)
  • PI Historian- ETRM (Energy Trading Risk Management) Software
