We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Managing Consultant to join our growing Cyber Security Consulting team. This role is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality security consultancy services to clients across a range of sectors, helping organisations understand, manage, and reduce cyber risk.
The successful candidate will manage the delivery of concurrent security engagements, provide trusted advisory services, support business development activities, and mentor junior consultants. They will possess a strong understanding of cyber security frameworks, governance, risk management, compliance requirements, and technical security principles, as well as strong leadership, organisational and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the delivery of cyber security consulting engagements for clients of varying sizes and sectors.
- Manage a team of consultants delivering cyber security maturity assessments, gap analyses, and risk assessments.
- Manage the delivery of security strategy, governance, risk, and compliance projects.
- Advise clients on security best practices, emerging threats, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and present security roadmaps and improvement plans.
- Support clients in achieving certifications and compliance objectives, including:
- ISO 27001
- Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus
- NIST Cybersecurity Framework
- CIS Controls
- GDPR and Data Protection requirements
- DORA and other sector-specific regulations where applicable
- Review client-ready security policies, standards, and procedures developed by junior team members.
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and executive briefings.
- Assure the quality of reports, recommendations, and client deliverables.
Technical and Risk Advisory
- Manage security reviews of infrastructure, cloud environments, and business processes.
- Provide guidance on security architecture and secure design principles.
- Support vulnerability management and remediation planning activities.
- Review third-party supplier security controls and risks.
- Contribute to incident response preparedness and cyber resilience programmes.
- Assist clients in understanding and prioritising cyber risks.
Business Development
- Support pre-sales activities including discovery workshops and client presentations.
- Manage proposals, statements of work, and tender responses.
- Identify opportunities for additional services and client engagement.
- Build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Leadership and Team Contribution
- Mentor and support junior consultants.
- Contribute to the development of consulting methodologies, templates, and service offerings.
- Share knowledge and best practices across the wider cyber security team.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and capability development initiatives where required.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years' experience in cyber security consulting, advisory, risk, governance in a professional services firm, with at least 1 year as a team manager.
- Strong understanding of information security principles and risk management methodologies.
- Experience managing the delivery of security consultancy projects directly to clients.
- Knowledge of cyber security frameworks and standards including:
- ISO 27001
- NIST CSF
- CIS Controls
- Cyber Essentials
- Experience managing client risk assessments and security maturity reviews.
- Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience reviewing and providing quality assurance for professional reports and presenting recommendations to senior management.
- Strong leadership, project management and organisational skills.
- Experience working within regulated industries.
Certifications (Desirable)
- One or more of the following:
- CISSP

- CRISC
