Job Description

Days, Sunday to Thursday, 06:00-14:30
45 hours per week
£48,018 + a great range of benefits

Your role will be to join the Distribution Team at the National Distribution Centre. You will be required to assist in implementing distribution plans for the Transport function to meet current and future customer service requirements and continually improve cost efficiency and quality of service in line with the Distribution Centre goals. Reporting to the Distribution Shift Manager, you will assist the Distribution Shift Manager who will have responsibility for approximately 150 drivers on differing shift patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Distribution Shift Manager with day-to-day management and planning of the Distribution function, ensuring standards and targets are met.
  • Contribute to Distribution Cost Budgets.
  • Staff Recruitment and Retention.
  • Staff Training and Development.
  • Ensure Health & Safety and Legal obligations are met, adhering to Company policies and procedures.
  • Increase driver awareness to reduce accidents.
  • Maintain high levels of Customer Service.
  • Ensure compliance with current Transport Legislation.

You should be computer literate, possess excellent man-management, commercial, analytical, and communication skills. An understanding of current commercial vehicle legislation is required. LGV C or LGV C+E and CPC qualification is essential, as there may be driving duties involved. Flexibility is important as this role involves weekend work.
