From barcodes to descriptions, from pack sizes to ingredients, from dimensions to imagery for our website, from addresses to company registration numbers, the accuracy of all these data points is critical in ensuring that our customers can select, order and then receive delivery of the ingredients they need to cook the amazing food we all enjoy when eating out.

With this in mind, Sysco are recruiting for a 'Merchandising Co-ordinator' to join our high performing Central Category & Data team in Ashford on a 12 month contract (maternity cover).

As a Merchandising Co-ordinator you will work closely with the Category teams in Merchandising to execute data driven activities, such as but not limited to: ensuring correct & timely set up of products and vendors, manage data changes and ensure accurate invoice price set up and timely implementation of changes thereafter.

The role is business-facing, working with many departments within Sysco GB to plan and execute data activities.

This is a fantastic role for someone who has a passion for getting it right at a detailed level, a desire to understand business processes and how that impacts data quality and is looking for a role where they can grow and have a successful career.

A hybrid role with a minimum of 1 day working in the Ashford Head Office, so you must be within a commutable distance to Ashford.

The site has good transport links and free car park for colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Maintenance.
  • Vendors, products, pricing & promotions on SAP.
  • Perform data checks ahead of set up.
  • Trade Interchange - SIM (Vendor set up).
  • Interface with multiple departments across businesses.
  • Ongoing checks, maintenance, resolution and recording for audit.
  • Data issue resolution.
  • Resolve supplier invoice queries and parked documents.

Knowledge, skills, experience and competencies

This role is suited to someone with an excellent work ethic, team ship, organisation and communication skills, who is looking for career progression in a global organisation.

The successful candidate will ideally have had previous experience working with data within a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.

You will have an exceptional eye for detail with excellent communication skills, (both written and verbal), with the ability to communicate to stakeholders at all levels and equally have the ability to identify inaccurate data and be comfortable challenging this back.

You will be confident working to tight deadlines across different departments utilising your prioritisation and organisational skills.

You'll ideally have experience using SAP, different reporting tools and a good working knowledge all Microsoft Office programmes including Excel.
