We are currently seeking a dedicated Quality Control Supervisor to join our team at our Hemel Hempstead site. In this full-time, Monday-to-Friday role, you will be responsible for conducting QC assessments of products to ensure they meet required quality specifications, rejecting any that fall outside of these standards.

You will liaise closely with the Sysco GB Technical Teams, reporting assessment findings clearly and effectively. A key part of the role involves organising and managing QC functions across a 24-hour period, ensuring all tasks are completed and documented accurately. You will need strong prioritisation skills, adaptability, and the confidence to lead the day’s QC workload while making informed decisions as guided by the Quality Manager.

The shift pattern for this role is Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5pm.

Key Accountabilities:
  • To carry out product assessments against specifications and conduct store walks.
  • Analyse Customer complaint data (linking with other QC teams).
  • Liaise with category Technical Managers and suppliers regarding specification and product standards following assessment and including product information requests such as surveillance photographs.
  • Administer the rejection and QC Hold process to business and suppliers.
  • Monitor and assess quality of products daily, including compliance to specification.
  • Conduct data analysis from various departments and analyse reports for highlighting products to be checked.
  • Carry out follow-up assessments where appropriate on next batches.
  • Monitor and assess stock for the regional depots, provide training if required on good practice.
  • Support any training given at the depot in ensuring the above.
  • Housekeeping of the QC facility and monitoring of equipment.
  • Create good working relationships with other QC teams and Technical Managers.
  • Create and maintain good working relationships within the depot.
  • Take the lead role as the Supervisor overseeing that key roles are met by the team and supporting the Quality Manager Hemel with any requests.
  • Support BRC and customer audits as required.
  • Support depot compliance to QMS.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team in the Quality Control Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food as well as possibly having worked in a quality control or assurance department. You should have proven experience in managing teams effectively. A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is desirable. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about food operations to step into a dynamic and rewarding role within a quality-focused environment.
