Key Account Sales Controller – Homebased (South)

Competitive attractive bonus, company car / car allowance & home‑based contract.

The role is regional, but the ideal candidate will support a customer base across the UK.

Lead and inspire a national sales team, helping them achieve and exceed sales profit and margin targets, retain, grow and gain customers in strategic partnerships with our Key Account customers.

Take a pro‑active role in developing, reviewing and revising the overall divisional sales plan, and promote a culture of inclusion, equity and diversity across the division.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop, implement and own the regional sales plan & budget to realise profitable growth, increase customer experience and deliver the divisional sales budget.
  • Lead, coach and motivate up to 10 direct reports to deliver sales and high team performance.
  • Own margin (percentage and cash) across the portfolio; work closely with finance, procurement and commercial teams to maximise all revenue opportunities.
  • Drive the modernisation of processes, supporting colleagues through change.
  • Proactively partner and own the relationship with relevant General Managers and their depot teams, supporting a joint approach to driving profitability.
  • Create a customer‑first culture throughout the team, understanding key customer businesses and their needs to continually improve the experience while managing expectations and securing growth.
  • Resolve operational issues proactively to enhance the customer experience, minimise disruption and develop tactics that identify growth opportunities.
  • Ensure talent management & engagement throughout the region is at the highest level, engaging through the ECF and your Sysco Survey action plan.
  • Meet with customers and head offices regularly to improve relationships, retain, secure and grow business.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and the team to establish win‑win solutions for the customer and the business.

Highly commercial – you will have previous experience leading a team of Key Account Managers, driving growth and results through the management of existing business, ideally in the food‑service industry.

Customer focus is paramount; foster continuous improvement across people, process, strategy and delivery models, building lasting and highly effective relationships with internal stakeholders to create an environment of trust, support and collaboration. Proficiency with technology is required (salesforce experience is advantageous).
