SYR are pleased to once again be supporting a leading superyacht design studio in the UK as they look to add a senior interior designer to their team. With a history of projects that have reached up to 100m in length, they hold an incredible reputation across the luxury yachting world and are winners of countless awards. With a busy order book they are now looking to add a skilled senior to the team.
Reporting into the directors, duties for the role will include:
- Working with client, shipyard and colleagues to conceptualise and design exceptional and fully unique interiors
- Act as liaison on behalf of the studio with all stakeholders including project managing at the yard and being able to troubleshoot across all things design-led
- Conduct materials and FF&E selection and procurement throughout the build, dealing directly with suppliers and specifying one-off projects
- Leading on project specific budgeting and finance and release of required funds to suppliers and partners
- Both design and amendment in CAD to a high standard
- Leadership to more junior colleagues
Our ideal candidate for this role will be a skilled interior designer with 8-10 years of experience based here in the UK or with UK right to work. You'll be based out of the design studio in London but your role will include a fair level of travel to deal with client, shipyard and supplier. You'll possess not only strong design skills but also a solid grasp of procurement and also be an excellent people person, able to deal with all stakeholders in a suitable manner. As you'll be joining a small team, the ability to get stuck in will be essential.
