We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive growth. This is a pivotal role within our expanding team, focused on securing both direct sales and long-term contracts for our cutting-edge range of unmanned systems. You will play a key role in shaping our sales strategy and work closely with the Commercial Director to capitalise on significant market opportunities, contributing significantly to the company's revenue growth.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategies to penetrate the relevant markets, identifying key opportunities and building strong relationships.
- Actively pursue and close direct sales opportunities for our range of unmanned systems (UAV, USV, UGV).
- Proactively engage with defence and government customers to understand their needs and position our solutions effectively.
- Plan, invite, and conduct compelling product demonstrations and presentations to new and prospective government clients, showcasing the value and capabilities of our technology.
- Track relevant tenders within your region that align with our product range and contribute to the development of winning bids in collaboration with the Commercial Director.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
- Accurately track and report on sales activities, pipeline development, and provide realistic sales forecasts.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and organisation procurement processes.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure customer needs are met and feedback is effectively communicated.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven track record of success in business development and sales, with a strong understanding of sales processes and achieving targets.
- Industry experience within the unmanned systems sector, with in-depth knowledge and practical experience in UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) technologies and their applications.
- Experience selling to government clients, with a strong understanding of government procurement processes and regulations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership.
- Must be able to travel within the UK/EU region.
- A willingness to learn and develop expertise in complex products.
- Familiarity or experience with USV (Unmanned Surface Vehicle) and UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle) technologies is desirable but not essential.
