The role involves managing, delivering, and developing high-end software licensing consultancy services for enterprise organizations, focusing on cloud migration, management, optimization, and software licensing. The Licensing Consultant will lead various software licensing and asset management tasks across contractual, technical, financial, and commercial areas.
Responsibilities
- Proactively manage and deliver services ensuring excellent client satisfaction
- Meet client objectives and maximize value from licensing arrangements
- Develop client engagement practices including technical solutions, processes, and project management
- Support commercial discussions and deal strategies
- Compile accurate licensing reports, including Effective Licensing Positions for top-tier vendors
- Identify and report license exposures, risks, and remediation options
- Report license optimization opportunities
- Contribute to client engagement planning and delivery as part of Synyega team
- Assist with software renewals and licensing queries
- Maintain industry knowledge on vendor licensing policies
Improvement & Business Development
- Support sales activities with vendor expertise
- Develop and maintain key client relationships
- Contribute to process improvements
- Log and promote customer successes
- Maintain documentation, templates, and standards
- Develop internal processes for high-quality, efficient service delivery
- Assist in training and mentoring the ITAM team
Experience & Skills
- In-depth software licensing knowledge, minimum 5 years, from vendor, reseller, consultancy, or end user
- Vendor specialist in at least one top-tier vendor (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, SAP)
- Experience with data center and cloud environments
- Team player with drive and persistence
- Minimum 5 years UK residency
- Experience managing or leading teams
- Advanced Excel skills
- Data analysis experience in IT Asset Management
- Experience with licensing discovery tools (e.g., Flexera, Snow, USU, ServiceNow, RV Tools, SCCM)
- Experience with software vendor licensing (e.g., Oracle, SAP, IBM, VMware)
- Knowledge of Cloud FinOps and computing data analysis
Qualifications/Experience
- University degree or equivalent experience
- Relevant experience from various backgrounds; training and support provided for the right candidate
Languages
- English: excellent verbal and written skills
- EU languages (German, Italian, French, Spanish) desirable
