Regulatory Support Specialist – Chemicals

Purpose Of Job

Join our team to ensure global compliance with chemical regulations through impactful project work and collaboration with the Product Stewardship team. You’ll play a key role in maintaining regulatory systems, identifying process inefficiencies, and communicating regulatory changes across departments. This role involves reviewing raw material data, managing safety data sheets and labels, and maintaining compliance records in SAP EHS.

We’re looking for someone with strong SAP experience (essential), excellent Excel skills, and a solid understanding of chemical regulations. Project management experience and the ability to troubleshoot across regulatory systems and tools are key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Safety and Compliance Proactively identify and resolve safety and regulatory issues, ensuring Synthomer remains legally compliant across assigned areas.
  • Support Regulatory Projects Deliver work packages aligned with product compliance goals, contributing to impactful regulatory initiatives.
  • Data and Insight Generation Analyse and interpret regulatory data to support decision-making and communicate findings clearly across teams.
  • Build Expertise and Collaboration Develop specialist knowledge in regulatory topics, build strong internal networks, and become a trusted partner across technical, production, and commercial teams.
  • Manage Regulatory Information
  • Maintain accurate records in SAP according to our migration to S/4 HANA, review and classify raw materials and products, and ensure safety data sheets and labels meet legal standards.
  • Process Improvement Help refine and document efficient regulatory processes, contributing to continuous improvement across the function.

What You’ll Bring

  • A degree in Chemistry or a related field—or equivalent experience in Regulatory or SHE roles. You’ll have at least 2 years in a regulatory environment, with a working knowledge of chemical classification and labeling (GHS) and exposure to SAP EHS. A proactive mindset and attention to detail are key.

Location

The position is located in the Harlow (Essex) office, with a minimum requirement of four days per week in the office as part of the hybrid working arrangement.
