Purpose of the Job:
- Part of a team who control the running of the production plant under the supervision of the Production Shift Manager and Team Leader. Performing chemical and manufacturing operations in a safe and effective manner. Capturing process opportunities by improving the integrity and reliability of the site assets through effective use of Manufacturing Excellence tools.
Main Accountabilities:
- Run the Plant in a safe and efficient way
- Propose improvements in manufacturing and safety systems
- Communicate within the shift and handover to other shifts in accordance with site standard
- Assist Engineering during the annual maintenance shutdown and during other times where possible
- Assist Factory Services in certain duties, like tanker off-loading and loading
- Bring to the attention of the Shift Manager or Team Leader any deficiencies/non-compliances
- Report any shift problems to the Shift Manager or Team Lead
- Carry out any plant duties and work as organised by the Team Leader (these include, but are not limited to, housekeeping and remediation or deep cleaning)
- Enter daily data for OEE and GLA to identify improvement opportunities
- Work to the shift production rota
- Compile and maintain batch documentation
- Ensure raw materials, products and energies are handled efficiently to minimise losses
To join our successful team, you will need:
- A minimum of 5 GCSE grade C or above
- Experience in an industrial or process manufacturing environment
- Lean manufacturing would be an advantage
- Good listening, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and to work to deadlines to business demands.
- NVQ Level 3 in Process Operations (Gold Standard) would be desirable
- Counter Balance Fork Lift Truck Licence is also desirable
