We are looking for an experienced Utilities & Facilities Technician to join our Engineering team at our Harlow manufacturing site.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on maintenance professional who thrives on solving problems, improving systems, and ensuring critical site utilities operate safely and efficiently.

You'll play a vital role in maintaining the infrastructure that keeps our manufacturing operations running, including steam generation, compressed air, cooling systems, chillers, and nitrogen plant equipment.

What You'll Be Doing As a Utilities & Facilities Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out both preventative and reactive maintenance activities across site utilities and facilities.,

  • What You’ll Be Doing
  • Maintaining and supporting critical utility systems including: Steam boilers, Cooling towers, Compressed air systems, Chillers, Nitrogen generation plant
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities
  • Diagnosing and resolving equipment faults efficiently and safely
  • Supporting the Utilities & Facilities Supervisor in managing engineering risk and asset reliability
  • Ensuring compliance with all Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) standards
  • Maintaining high housekeeping standards through 5S principles
  • Updating and improving engineering documentation and procedures
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across utilities operations
  • Following all site engineering and business processes

We’re looking for an engineer who combines strong technical expertise with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.

  • You’ll ideally have
  • A recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
  • At least 5 years' maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • BOAS (Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme) qualification
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the site
  • A high level of ownership, accountability and commitment to delivering results
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Experience working on industrial utilities and facilities equipment
