About the Role
You will take ownership of the accessibility roadmap and its key outputs, including baseline audits, prioritised remediation plans, Design System coverage, CI automation, and production monitoring. Deliver technical improvements and coordinate remediation initiatives across teams. Work closely with the Design System team, Product, Design, Legal, and external audit partners to integrate accessibility into standard workflows. Upskill selected team members to champion accessibility standards within their departments. Conduct user testing using assistive technologies and incorporate insights into product direction. Build and manage AI-supported tools to scale auditing and remediation processes, with appropriate human oversight. Contribute to the team’s long-term strategy, ensuring we are strengthening engineering capabilities to address challenges expected over the next 6–12 months.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in software engineering, including at least three (3) years at a senior or lead level.
- Demonstrated experience leading accessibility initiatives for a large-scale web application, with measurable outcomes.
- Strong frontend expertise (React/TypeScript), along with Storybook, axe-core/pa11y, and Playwright/Cypress.
- Solid understanding of WCAG standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across teams.
- Experience embedding accessibility within Continuous Integration workflows and Design Systems.
- Familiarity with applying LLM/AI tools to accessibility auditing and remediation.
- Previous experience establishing accessibility teams or programs.
Nice to Haves
- Design experience (e.g., Figma).
- Background in media or video accessibility, including captions, audio descriptions, and player controls.

Other Important Information
- This position is remote within the EU, UK, or Switzerland.
- Base salary starts at EUR/GBP/CHF 120,000 plus stock options.
