Synthesia is the world’s leading AI video platform for business, used by over 90% of the Fortune 100. Founded in 2017, the company is headquartered in London, with offices and teams across Europe and the US. As AI continues to shape the way we live and work, Synthesia develops products to enhance visual communication and enterprise skill development, helping people work better and stay at the center of successful organizations.

About the role

The Creator product surfaces are found at heart of our platform - the editor, avatars, voice, and generative experiences that give people the ability to make professional video content without the steep learning curve typically found in video. It's used by everyone from freelancers to teams inside 90% of the Fortune 100. The craft bar is high and the surface area is genuinely complex. We're hiring a Group Product Manager for this area. You’ll need to bring strategic coherence across a set of product surfaces that are growing quickly while building and elevating the PM team reporting to you. This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit above the work. The expectation is that you're a player‑coach - leaning toward coach, but willing and able to get into the detail when it matters.

What you’ll be doing

  • Helping shape the product strategy and roadmap for the Creator bet alongside other Product and cross‑functional leaders. This includes our editor, avatars, voice, and generative experiences.
  • Coaching and developing a team of PMs; creating leverage through clarity, good process, and raising the bar on how the team works.
  • Partnering closely with a strong design and engineering team who have deep domain expertise - earning their trust and adding genuine strategic value, not just coordinating.
  • Driving prioritisation decisions that balance user needs, commercial outcomes, and technical constraints across a fast‑moving product area.
  • Hiring the next PMs for Creator: owning the brief, running the process, and calibrating well.
  • Communicating product direction clearly to leadership and across the organisation, and creating the kind of clarity that lets the team move fast without constant escalation.
  • Acting as the hands‑on PM for any gaps we have until a dedicated hire is in place, maintaining momentum and quality on one of our most technically complex surfaces.

Who you are

  • You have a track record of owning complex, multi‑surface product areas and making them better - not just by executing well but by bringing a point of view that others rally around.
  • You've shipped creative tooling, editor‑type products, or closely adjacent productivity tools and you understand the UX and technical complexity that comes with that territory.
  • You don't need to have come from video, but you need to be able to earn the respect of people who have.
  • You've managed PMs before and know the difference between good coaching and just staying involved.
  • You create leverage through people, not despite them.
  • You're technical enough to know how engage with engineering counterparts, you know when to push back, and you know when to defer - and you're honest about the edges of your own knowledge rather than papering over them.
  • You've operated in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments and your instinct is to frame the problem and drive a decision, not wait for a cleaner brief.

Concretely:

  • 8+ years in product, with meaningful time at group or lead level managing other PMs
  • Experience shipping and owning creative tooling, editor products, or high‑craft productivity tools
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a player‑coach - strategic ownership and hands‑on execution, not one or the other
  • Strong cross‑functional instincts; able to partner effectively with design and engineering without crowding either out
  • Comfortable at the intersection of consumer‑grade craft and enterprise‑grade requirements
  • Based in London or able to travel regularly - we're flexible on location but this team benefits from in‑person time
