Description

L’artiste en développement visuel est responsable de développer l’apparence finale des éléments 3D qui sont intégrés dans les images d’un film ou d’une série télévisée. Il ou elle collabore étroitement avec les artistes en modélisation, les artistes éclairagistes et les artistes de textures pour s’assurer que tous les objets, personnages et créatures d’une production sont visuellement cohérents et se fondent dans les plans de manière réaliste. Pour ce faire, il ou elle ajuste les textures et l’éclairage des éléments afin de les adapter aux différents contextes du récit (par ex. modifier l’apparence de la peau d’un dragon lorsqu’il pleut, lorsqu’il est éclairé par la lumière du jour ou par la lune, etc.). Il s’agit d’un travail artistique, mais aussi très technique : il ou elle manipule des paramètres dans un logiciel de création 3D pour en arriver à l’effet désiré, et s’assure que les éléments créés sont optimisés pour le rendu d’image.
