What you can expect
Supplier management of commodity items (OEM parts, cost centre parts, services, technical drawings, and plastic parts).
You will support planning operations, raise and close project and spares WIP, and import engineering data into the MRP system.
You will own the process from placement to completion of orders from the approved supplier list, ensuring product supply meets build schedules and KPIs are met.
You will liaise with suppliers on relationship and supply issues, track Supplier KPIs, perform planning activities, and work closely with the lead planner.
Work collaboratively within the team of buyers and planners to support the business growth and operational targets.
Liaise with the central corporate supply chain to ensure OEM/Drawing parts accounts are honoured for pricing and lead-time.
Manage indirect purchases through cost centre codes, and manage parts treatment for parts manufactured in-house or locally.
Manage procurement of identified categories.
- Negotiate and maintain pricing and lead-time across key accounts and suppliers
- Record and update on-time delivery of parts and services
- Work with QMM for non-conformance resolution
- Identify sourcing opportunities for cost savings
- Placement and management of purchase orders
- Work with QMM and the Purchasing Manager on supplier performance management
- Monitor and review supplier pricing through the year and review annually with the Purchasing Manager to optimise pricing
- Track and communicate on-time, in full delivery performance
- Conduct competitive bidding exercises (RFQs) regularly
- Support the Supply Chain Manager in tracking and reporting supplier quality and delivery performance
- Manage the process of parts treatment between production and purchasing
- Raise and close planning jobs for project and spares
- Support supply chain team members in purchasing BO/MA parts and in-house manufacturing for operations and aftersales within agreed KPIs for supply

- What you’ll bring
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a purchasing buyer with knowledge of electro-mechanical and OEM suppliers
- Preferred engineering or manufacturing industry background
- Ability to apply data analytics to steer buying for cost-effectiveness and timeliness
- 5 years minimum MRP/ERP experience
- Team player mentality and attitude
- Ability to build relationships with suppliers and colleagues
- Working knowledge of MS Excel
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm for good internal and external relationships
- Problem-solver mindset
- Ability to communicate across various levels of personnel up to senior management and site directors
