Job Description

Join us as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer and lead the mechanical design journey from first concept to production‑ready product. You will design electromechanical mechanisms for both customer projects and internal innovations, applying DFMA principles and hands‑on prototyping to ensure robust, manufacturable solutions. Working closely with electronics, controls and test teams, you’ll own mechanical scope and drive quality, cost and delivery through the full project lifecycle.

What you’ll do

You will take technical ownership of mechanical solutions from early concept through to production handover, ensuring designs meet performance, safety and cost targets. You’ll work cross‑functionally to define interfaces, validate designs in prototype and testing phases, and resolve issues quickly. Your role combines creative concept development, detailed 3D modelling and practical support for assembly and manufacturing.

  • Design robust electromechanical mechanisms and assemblies with a strong DFMA focus.
  • Own concepts, 3D models, detailed drawings, BOMs and production transfer for assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with electronics, controls and test teams to define interfaces and validate designs.
  • Support prototyping, assembly and test activities; perform root‑cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and drive quality, safety, cost targets and project timelines.

Qualifications

Who we’re looking for

  • 7–10 years continuous experience as a Design/Development Engineer, preferably in equipment manufacturing.
  • HND, BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience with electromechanical mechanism design and complex assemblies.
  • Strong 3D modelling skills (SolidWorks preferred) and working knowledge of DFMA, GD&T and tolerance analysis; experience with PDM/PLM is a plus.
  • Practical, creative problem‑solver with cross‑functional collaboration skills; mentoring or team‑lead experience desirable.

Additional Information

What we offer

  • A hands‑on, high‑impact role with broad technical responsibility and room for initiative.
  • Access to prototyping and test facilities, modern CAD/PDM tools and practical workshop support.
  • Opportunities for professional development, training and career progression.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Flexible working options and a supportive, team‑oriented environment.
