We’re looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join a leading performance engineering business near Leamington Spa. This is a permanent role, offering the chance to work on cutting-edge transmission and driveline projects across automotive and motorsport.

Senior Design Engineer Duties:

  • Produce detailed mechanical designs, stress calculations, FMEAs, 2D layouts, and tolerance stacks
  • Carry out FEA analysis, shaft and bearing analysis, and gear data specification
  • Select materials and define manufacturing processes
  • Design casings and castings with Creo Simulate (or similar)
  • Produce technical reports and documentation
  • Support manufacturing and assembly during first-off builds
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal operations to resolve technical queries
  • Provide design support for global projects

Senior Design Engineer Profile:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in automotive, motorsport, or performance engineering environments
  • Strong knowledge of transmission systems
  • Proficient in 3D CAD (Creo preferred, Catia/NX also considered)
  • High competency in 2D drawings and GD&T
  • Familiarity with PLM systems (Windchill preferred)
  • Understanding of modern manufacturing methods and FEA techniques
  • Flexible and capable of working to tight deadlines
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

Desirable: Knowledge of gear geometry, casting methods, additive manufacturing, eMobility drivetrains, and hydraulic circuits.
