Syntech Recruitment are working with a highly successful engineering manufacturer based in Woking who are expanding their production team following the award of a significant new manufacturing contract, alongside their established range of precision electronic and electromechanical products. We are looking for a number of Electronics Assemblers with strong hand-soldering ability to build high-reliability electronic assemblies to IPC-A-610 standards. Whether you’re an experienced IPC-610 certified solderer or an electronics assembler looking to formalise your skills, we’d like to hear from you.

Electronics Assembler Duties:

  • Working within the production team, you will build and inspect high-quality electronic and electromechanical assemblies to IPC-A-610 acceptability standards.
  • Hand-soldering of through-hole and surface-mount components to IPC-A-610 standards
  • Soldering wires, harnesses and connectors to PCBs and small electronic assemblies
  • PCB assembly, rework and repair to a high-reliability standard
  • Working from build instructions, engineering drawings and IPC-A-610 workmanship criteria
  • Electromechanical assembly of products and sub-assemblies using hand tools, Torx drivers and assembly fixtures
  • Handling electronic assemblies and PCBs under full ESD control
  • In-process and visual inspection of solder joints to IPC-A-610 acceptance classes
  • Applying adhesives, conformal coating and completing finishing tasks where required
  • Working to quality standards and production targets
  • Supporting other manufacturing areas including packaging, deburring and inspection
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and ESD-safe work area

Electronics Assembler Experience:

  • Previous hand-soldering experience within electronics manufacturing or a similar environment
  • IPC-A-610 certification — or the experience and willingness to gain it
  • Confident soldering through-hole and surface-mount components, wires, connectors and PCB assemblies
  • Good manual dexterity, strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and IPC-A-610 workmanship standards accurately
  • Awareness of ESD control and high-reliability assembly practices
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and willing to support different areas of production
  • Willingness to complete a short practical soldering assessment during interview
