Hours: Full-Time | 8-Hour Standard Day Shift

Our client is a global provider of automated power test solutions supporting mission-critical sectors such as aerospace, defence, automotive, medical, and renewable energy. They engineer modular and scalable automated test equipment (ATE) that integrates programmable power systems with intelligent test automation software. Their platforms are deployed across global OEM and Tier 1 environments.
Test Development Engineer Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver automated test systems for power electronics applications
- Build and maintain test sequences using LabVIEW, Python, TestStand, or equivalent tools
- Integrate DC/AC power supplies, electronic loads, and instrumentation via PXI, LXI, GPIB, Ethernet
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and field teams on end-to-end solution development
- Configure test racks, troubleshoot integration issues, and support on-site installations
- Produce technical documentation including test procedures, wiring schematics, and system manuals
- Travel to customer sites across the UK and Europe for system commissioning and support
Test Development Engineer Requirements:
- Solid background in automated test development within an engineering or electronics context
- Strong coding experience in C/C++, Python, and LabVIEW
- Proficient with TestStand and/or proprietary test executive platforms
- Understanding of DC/AC power systems, programmable supplies, and loads
- Familiar with modular instrumentation (PXI, GPIB, LXI) and automation interfaces
- Comfortable in regulated, high-integrity engineering environments
Desirable (Not Essential):
- Exposure to real-time, embedded, or FPGA-based test systems
- Experience delivering or supporting field systems in aerospace/defence/automotive sectors
- Knowledge of compliance, calibration, or verification procedures
