Syntech Recruitment is partnering with a growing engineering and manufacturing business specialising in surface finishing and anodising services, seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality systems, process control, compliance, continuous improvement and production support activities across the operation. This is a hands-on leadership position overseeing a small team of five, with responsibility for maintaining quality standards, improving manufacturing processes, reducing defects and supporting operational performance. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving continuous improvement and supporting the business on its journey towards AS9100 accreditation.

Quality Manager Duties
- Managing and developing a team of 5 production and quality staff
- Maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards and supporting progression towards AS9100 accreditation
- Developing and implementing quality control procedures across surface finishing operations
- Approving finished products against customer drawings, specifications and quality requirements
- Leading internal and external audits and managing corrective actions
- Overseeing process controls, plant performance and environmental monitoring activities
- Managing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes across production equipment
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve consistency and increase efficiency
- Conducting root cause investigations into quality issues, customer complaints and non-conformances
- Implementing corrective and preventative actions (CAPA)
Quality Manager Profile
- Proven experience within a surface finishing, anodising, plating, coating or metal finishing environment
- Strong understanding of process control, quality systems and manufacturing operations
- Experience managing ISO 9001 quality systems
- Previous leadership or management experience within manufacturing
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Experience implementing corrective and preventative actions
- Knowledge of Planned Preventative Maintenance programmes
Desirable Experience
- Hard anodising or soft anodising experience
- Aerospace, defence, medical or other regulated manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of AS9100 or NADCAP requirements
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training
