Working Pattern: Monday–Thursday, 06:45–16:30 (37 hours, 4-day week)
We’re working with a precision aerospace manufacturer seeking an experienced Manual Grinder with strong centreless grinding capability. If you’ve operated Wickman, Ghiringhelli, Cincinnati or Tschudin machines and understand what true precision looks like, this is well worth a conversation.
Manual Grinder Responsibilities- Setting and operating manual centreless grinding machines
- Grinding to tight aerospace tolerances
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Self-inspection using micrometres and precision measuring equipment
- Supporting second operations where required (thread rolling, deburring, etc.)
- Reducing scrap and maintaining machine efficiency
- Achieving output targets without compromising quality
- Strong manual centreless grinding experience (essential)
- Aerospace or high-precision manufacturing background preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- High attention to detail – this is precision machining, not rough grinding
- Reliable team player with a proactive approach
- £30,000–£35,000 depending on experience
- Monday–Thursday working week (37 hours)
- 1.5x overtime available
- 16 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
