Syntech Recruitment are working with a leading precision manufacturing and engineering business to support the hire of a Quality Metrology Technician. This role would suit an experienced inspection or metrology professional who is confident using advanced measurement equipment and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment supporting quality and production teams.

  • Conduct precision measurements using advanced metrology equipment including PCMM systems, Faro Arms, Romer Arms, calipers, micrometers and gauges
  • Perform inspections on incoming materials, in-process components and finished products
  • Ensure products meet specified tolerances, engineering drawings and quality standards
  • Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to determine inspection criteria
  • Record, analyse and report measurement data, identifying trends and deviations where required
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to investigate and resolve quality issues
  • Support root cause investigations and recommend corrective actions
  • Maintain and calibrate metrology equipment to ensure measurement accuracy and reliability
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate quality documentation
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across inspection and quality control processes
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure quality compliance across production activities

Quality Technician Requirements

  • Previous machining experience is essential
  • Manufacturing industry experience is required
  • Proven experience within a Quality Metrology Technician, Quality Inspector or similar inspection role
  • Proficient in the use of metrology and inspection equipment including PCMM systems, calipers, micrometers and gauges
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Excellent attention to detail and measurement accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Metrology, Quality Control, Engineering or related discipline advantageous
  • Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO9001 and AS9100D beneficial
