Syntech Recruitment are working with a leading precision manufacturing and engineering business to support the hire of a Quality Metrology Technician. This role would suit an experienced inspection or metrology professional who is confident using advanced measurement equipment and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment supporting quality and production teams.
- Conduct precision measurements using advanced metrology equipment including PCMM systems, Faro Arms, Romer Arms, calipers, micrometers and gauges
- Perform inspections on incoming materials, in-process components and finished products
- Ensure products meet specified tolerances, engineering drawings and quality standards
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to determine inspection criteria
- Record, analyse and report measurement data, identifying trends and deviations where required
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to investigate and resolve quality issues
- Support root cause investigations and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain and calibrate metrology equipment to ensure measurement accuracy and reliability
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate quality documentation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across inspection and quality control processes
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure quality compliance across production activities
Quality Technician Requirements
- Previous machining experience is essential
- Manufacturing industry experience is required
- Proven experience within a Quality Metrology Technician, Quality Inspector or similar inspection role
- Proficient in the use of metrology and inspection equipment including PCMM systems, calipers, micrometers and gauges
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and measurement accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Associate degree or technical certification in Metrology, Quality Control, Engineering or related discipline advantageous
- Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO9001 and AS9100D beneficial
