Syntech Recruitment are working with an established aerospace precision engineering manufacturer in Essex, supplying safety-critical components to demanding programmes across the sector. AS9100 accredited, 4-day week, strong package.

They need a Quality Engineer who knows their way around a shop floor, can own inspections end-to-end and will drive quality standards without needing to be managed. If you have aerospace or precision engineering experience and a solid grounding in AS9100, apply.

Quality Engineer Role

Hands-on quality role working across the production floor and inspection function. Duties will include:

  • First-off inspections, in-process checks and final release of components
  • Maintaining and auditing the QMS against AS9100 and ISO 9001
  • Root cause analysis and driving corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Managing NCRs and customer complaints through to closure
  • Planning and conducting internal audits; supporting third-party and customer audits
  • Supporting new product introduction and supplier quality
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to verify component conformance

Quality Engineer Profile

Experience: Quality engineering background in aerospace, defence or precision engineering

Standards: Solid working knowledge of AS9100 - you have used it, not just read it

Inspection: Confident with first-offs, in-process inspection and final release

Technical: Able to read engineering drawings and use inspection equipment competently

Audit: Internal auditor qualified or working towards it

Approach: Hands-on and visible on the shop floor - not looking for a desk job
