Location: Near Oxford (20-minute drive)

Hours: Monday to Friday during training/probation, moving to a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern (7am to 4:30pm) upon successful completion of probation

Syntech Recruitment are supporting a highly respected engineering and manufacturing business near Oxford that produces safety-critical products used within the aerospace and defence sectors. We're looking for a Mechanical Assembly Operative to join their growing production team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with assembly, manufacturing, production or engineering experience who enjoys working with precision components in a structured, quality-focused environment.

Mechanical Assembly Operative Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical components and assemblies to detailed engineering specifications
  • Follow work instructions, manufacturing procedures and engineering drawings
  • Use hand tools and production equipment safely and effectively
  • Carry out assembly work to strict quality standards and tolerances
  • Identify and verify part numbers, batch information and drawing revisions
  • Complete in-process inspections and quality checks
  • Record work accurately using SAP and other production systems
  • Handle components and materials carefully to prevent damage
  • Support continuous improvement and 5S activities
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience within manufacturing, assembly or production environments
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience using hand tools and assembly equipment
  • Good attention to detail and quality standards
  • Reliable and safety-conscious approach to work
