The Opportunity
Syntech Recruitment is proud to partner with a premier British engineering firm known for its high-precision manufacturing. We are seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Operative (Tool Stores) to join a vital production support team. This role ensures that the engineers crafting life-saving aerospace technology have the exact tools and equipment they need, exactly when they need them.
Your Responsibilities
- Production Support: Issue tooling, fixtures, and gauges to manufacturing teams and sub-contractors.
- Inventory Management: Perform daily replenishment of Kanban locations and maintain accurate stock levels for consumables.
- Data Integrity: Log all transfers and stock movements accurately using internal computer systems.
- Logistics & Despatch: Process weekly tooling requests, including professional packing and boxing for outward despatch.
- Quality Control: Conduct monthly gauge calibrations and report any discrepancies to the Calibration department.
- Vendor Management: Manage carbide re-grind tooling and coordinate with Goods-In for stock put-away.
Experience & Skills Required
- Background: Proven experience in stores, warehousing, or logistics—ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Technical Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word) and comfortable using inventory management systems.
- Compliance: A solid understanding of Health & Safety (H&S) procedures within a warehouse setting.
- Soft Skills: Ability to remain calm under pressure, prioritize competing tasks, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
