Syntech Recruitment are partnering with a world-renowned aerospace and defence manufacturer based near Uxbridge, supporting the search for an experienced Inspection Quality Engineer to join their Inspection and Quality function. This is an opportunity to work within a highly regulated aerospace environment where quality, precision and compliance are absolutely critical. You’ll play a key role in supporting First Article Inspection activities, Patrol Inspection Audits, and ensuring products meet AS9102 and AS9100 standards within a life-saving engineering environment.
Important Information
Due to the nature of the work, this role is subject to BPSS security clearance checks. Applicants will need to demonstrate a consistent recent 5-year employment history and right to work within the UK before employment can commence.

Inspection Quality Engineer Responsibilities
- Planning and conducting First Article Inspection (FAI) activities against programme requirements
- Completing First Article Inspection reports for top-level assemblies and deliverable items
- Carrying out Patrol Inspection Audits across manufacturing areas
- Reviewing completed FAI documentation to ensure compliance with AS9102 and internal quality requirements
- Supporting corrective action activities and maintaining MOE reporting metrics
- Creating and managing non-conformance notifications where required
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across inspection and quality processes
- Working closely with manufacturing, inspection and quality teams to ensure products meet required standards
- Using systems such as Qpulse QPM, SAP and Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation activities
What we are looking for
- Previous experience within a Quality Engineer, Inspection Engineer, First Article Inspector or Aerospace Inspection role
- Strong understanding of AS9100 audits and AS9102 First Article Inspection processes
- Experience within manufacturing or engineering environments
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and 2D/3D technical data
- Good understanding of inspection tools, quality systems and manufacturing processes
- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office and quality management systems
- Experience using Qpulse QPM, SAP or equivalent systems would be advantageous
- Aerospace or defence industry experience highly desirable
- HNC/HND/NVQ level qualification within Engineering or similar preferred
