Overview
A Field Service Engineer is required to join a leading UK provider of physical security systems, including gates, barriers, blockers and turnstiles. This is a hands‑on field role suited to engineers with experience working on larger machinery, agricultural equipment or PLC‑controlled systems, combined with strong mechanical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service and repair security systems including gates, barriers, blockers and turnstiles
- Carry out fault‑finding on mechanical and basic electrical/PLC systems
- Attend breakdowns and complete reactive maintenance work
- Take part in an on‑call rota (currently 1 in 5, moving to 1 in 6)
- Complete digital job reports and communicate with clients on‑site
- Travel across the region with occasional overnight stays
Requirements
- Strong mechanical engineering background essential
- Experience working on larger machinery, plant, agricultural equipment or PLC‑controlled systems
- Basic electrical knowledge, including 3‑phase and 24v systems
- 18th Edition desirable but not essential
- Full UK driving licence
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors and in confined spaces
- Based within the Leeds area
- Flexible for travel, overtime and weekend work
Mandatory Security & Clearance Requirements
- Right to work in the UK (documentation required)
- 5 years continuous UK residency
- 5 years continuous employment history, fully traceable
- No criminal convictions
- British passport required
