Syntech Recruitment are partnering with a highly regarded precision engineering manufacturer to recruit an experienced CNC Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator.

CNC Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator Responsibilities
  • Program, set and operate CNC milling machines safely and efficiently
  • Produce precision-machined components from engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Programme and machine complex parts on 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC milling machines
  • Create setup sheets and tooling documentation to ensure repeatable manufacturing processes
  • Carry out online programming using Heidenhain controls
  • Inspect and verify own work using a range of measuring equipment
  • Manufacture components to tight tolerances, typically around 20 microns
  • Machine large-scale components up to approximately 2.5 metres in size
  • Support colleagues through knowledge sharing and training where required
  • Maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives
  • Ensure quality standards are achieved through a right-first-time approach
CNC Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator Requirements
  • Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines
  • Strong Heidenhain control experience is essential
  • Experience with 3, 4 and 5-axis machining
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience producing components to tight tolerances
  • Competent using measuring and inspection equipment
  • Previous experience with Doosan, Matsuura or Mazak machinery advantageous
  • Experience machining large components beneficial
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Positive attitude with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Apprenticeship-trained engineer preferred but not essential
