Toolroom Technician
Location: Ascot, Berkshire (commutable from Bracknell, Wokingham, Reading, Maidenhead, Slough, Windsor and surrounding areas).
Salary: £15.00 - £16.00 per hour (£30,420 - £32,448 basic) | OTE £37,440 - £39,936.
Hours: Monday to Thursday 7am – 5:30pm, Friday finish 1pm (45‑hour week).
We are recruiting for a Toolroom Technician to join a well‑established precision engineering manufacturer based near Ascot, Berkshire.
Working within a modern, clean CNC machining environment, you will play a key role in ensuring production teams have the tooling and fixtures they need to manufacture complex, high‑value components used within military and aerospace applications.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of CNC tooling and fixtures who enjoys working in an organised, hands‑on environment supporting manufacturing operations.
What's on Offer
- £15.00 – £16.00 per hour depending on experience.
- OTE of £37,440 – £39,936 including regular overtime.
- 39 standard hours plus 6 hours overtime paid at 1.5/x each week.

Responsibilities
- Set up and prepare tooling and fixtures for production.
- Manage the day‑to‑day operation of the toolroom.
- Store, maintain and distribute tooling equipment efficiently.
- Monitor and control toolroom inventory.
- Coordinate tooling requirements with the production team.
- Maintain accurate records of tooling usage and stock.
- Order new tooling and equipment when required.
- Ensure tooling is maintained in good condition and available when needed.
- Support continuous organisation and housekeeping within the toolroom.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working within a CNC machining or manufacturing toolroom.
- Strong understanding of CNC tooling and workholding fixtures.
- Experience managing tooling inventory and stock control.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Methodical and proactive approach to work.
- Experience using a Zoller tool presetting system would be advantageous but is not essential.
