Are you an experienced Civil Engineering Estimator looking to work on some of Ireland's largest infrastructure projects? Syntech Recruitment is supporting a leading infrastructure and civil engineering contractor as they continue to expand their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Estimator with a strong civils background to play a key role in securing major highways, rail, bridges, utilities, earthworks, and transportation projects across Ireland.

You'll be joining a business with a long-standing reputation for delivering complex, high-value infrastructure schemes and will have the opportunity to work on tenders that help shape the future of Ireland's transport network.

Senior Estimator Duties

  • Lead the preparation of competitive tenders for civil engineering and infrastructure projects
  • Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements
  • Attend project start-up meetings and site visits
  • Produce enquiry schedules and manage subcontractor and supplier pricing exercises
  • Evaluate quotations and ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) using CCS Candy and other estimating software
  • Contribute to risk assessments and tender risk review meetings
  • Support tender settlement meetings with senior management and commercial teams
  • Prepare tender submissions and supporting commercial documentation
  • Attend tender handover meetings with delivery and operational teams
  • Respond to client queries and incorporate tender amendments where required
  • Ensure all estimates are commercially robust, accurate, and competitive

Senior Estimator Profile

  • Minimum 7 years' estimating experience within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Strong background pricing civils works such as highways, rail, bridges, utilities, drainage, earthworks, or heavy infrastructure projects
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar
  • Experience working for civil engineering contractors or infrastructure businesses
  • Strong understanding of public sector and private sector tendering processes
  • Ability to interpret technical and commercial tender documentation
  • Commercially astute with strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience using estimating software such as CCS Candy would be advantageous
