Dimensional Calibration Engineer

Location: Chorley, Lancashire
Salary: Β£35,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-Time

About the Role
Syntech are looking for a number of Calibration Engineers to join a large TIC services business (Test, Inspection & Calibration). This is a business with global reach and offers career progression & training.
Dimensional Calibration Engineer duties:
As a Dimensional Calibration Engineer , your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing dimensional calibration of a variety of gauges, fixtures, and measuring instruments
  • Ensuring calibrations meet internal and national standards (UKAS experience is highly desirable)
  • Recording and maintaining accurate documentation and calibration certificates
  • Supporting internal audits and process improvement initiatives
  • Communicating with customers or departments to ensure clarity on technical findings

Dimensional Calibration Engineer knowledge:

  • Solid experience in dimensional calibration (e.g., micrometers, verniers, height gauges, thread gauges)
  • Familiarity with metrology and traceability standards
  • Experience working within a UKAS-accredited environment (or understanding of ISO 17025)
  • A methodical mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills
