Syntech Recruitment are supporting a leading precision engineering and manufacturing organisation in the search for an experienced Quality Engineer. This role would suit a quality professional with a strong manufacturing background who is experienced in customer and supplier quality management, quality systems, auditing and continuous improvement.

Quality Engineer Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary quality interface between customers, suppliers and manufacturing teams
  • Investigate and resolve quality-related issues across production operations
  • Train manufacturing personnel on inspection methods, quality standards and measurement techniques
  • Manage and maintain calibration systems for measurement and test equipment
  • Support the setup and control of inspection equipment used within production
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives
  • Translate customer quality requirements into manufacturing documentation and processes
  • Produce inspection reports, trend analysis and quality performance metrics
  • Manage non-conformances and customer complaints using structured problem-solving methodologies including 8D and 5 Why analysis

Quality Engineer Requirements

  • Minimum five years' experience within a Quality Engineer or similar manufacturing quality role
  • Mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent engineering background
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing quality systems and processes
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings
  • Experience using a range of inspection and measurement techniques
  • Proven experience producing inspection reports and quality documentation
  • Strong customer and supplier quality management experience
  • Experience conducting internal and supplier audits
  • Project management and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to train and mentor colleagues on quality-related subjects
