We’re looking for a hands-on Industrial Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join a growing field service team covering the Surrey and Sussex region. You’ll work on heavy-duty electro-mechanical systems including industrial gates, conveyors and materials handling equipment across customer sites.
This is a great opportunity for mechanically minded engineers with electrical fault-finding experience — or strong mechanical engineers looking to build their electrical skills through specialist training.

- £38,000 – £40,000 basic salary depending on experience, Realistic OTE around £50,000+

The Role
You’ll carry out installation, servicing, maintenance and breakdown repair on:
- Heavy conveyors and materials handling systems
- Large electro-mechanical gate systems
- Pumps, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, chains and pulleys
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Stripping and rebuilding mechanical assemblies
- Diagnosing and replacing failed components
- Electrical fault-finding on PLC-controlled systems (no programming)
- Working with safety relays, E-stops, sensors and motor controllers
- Attending customer breakdowns and resolving faults methodically
- Working outdoors and across industrial customer sites
Ideal Backgrounds
- Heavy manufacturing or processing environments
- Conveyor or materials handling systems
- Agricultural or off-highway machinery
- Heavy plant or industrial maintenance
- Ex-Forces engineering backgrounds
Skills & Experience
- Electro-mechanical experience or strong mechanical skills with electrical exposure
- Ability to strip and rebuild pumps, shafts and bearings
- Confident working safely with heavy equipment
- Understanding of control panels, PLC systems and safety circuits
- Logical electrical fault-finding approach
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Requirements
- Based within reasonable travel of Crawley / Horsham / Guildford / Leatherhead
- Full UK driving licence
- British passport holder currently in the UK
- Happy to join a 1-in-4 call-out rota
- Flexible to travel across the wider region when required
