Syntech Recruitment is supporting a well-established manufacturing business known for delivering engineered solutions to the built environment. As part of a major growth phase, the business is integrating several new suppliers into its supply chain and is now seeking a hands-on Quality Inspector to verify the standard of incoming structural components and assemblies prior to acceptance.
This is a field-based role covering UK suppliers, ideally suited to someone located in the Coventry or Midlands area, with weekly travel to HQ in Berkshire.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed visual and dimensional inspections of assembled metalwork and engineered components
- Visit supplier sites to inspect and sign off completed work before dispatch
- Assess build quality, finish, alignment, and tolerance adherence across complex assemblies
- Record and report all inspection findings clearly, supporting the Quality Manager on issue resolution
- Monitor supplier performance against internal quality expectations
- Support rework decision-making where non-conformances are identified
- Align with in-house quality processes through regular collaboration at the Berkshire HQ
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in a quality inspection role within structural, fabricated, or mechanical assemblies
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and quality documentation
- Strong attention to detail, with a practical, methodical approach to visual and dimensional checks
- Comfortable working independently on-site with suppliers
- Full UK driving licence (essential for regular travel)
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is beneficial
- Valid CSCS card preferred
Package
- £38,000 – £44,000 base salary
