Company Overview: Our client a leading provider of engineering solutions, offering a range of services from design to production and quality control has an exciting new opportunity for a CNC Machine Operator to join their team. As a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process. Your responsibilities will include operating CNC machines to produce high-quality machined parts while adhering to safety procedures and ensuring adherence to specifications. This role requires flexibility to assist with various tasks throughout the business to enhance efficiency and add value to our processes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Safety: Adhere to safety procedures and regulations to maintain safe operations.
  • Operate CNC Machines: Produce machined parts by operating CNC equipment according to work orders and specifications.
  • Follow Specifications: Interpret and apply geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) to ensure parts meet design requirements.
  • Follow Instructions: Execute machine operations based on guidance from the setter and any part-specific instructions.
  • Load Stock: Position materials into the feed mechanism by lifting and loading stock.
  • First-off Approval: Obtain approval for the first-off part from the Quality Department or designated personnel before proceeding with the production batch.
  • Quality Verification: Regularly measure critical dimensions, documenting measurements as required, and record findings in inspection sheets.
  • Document Actions: Maintain accurate production and quality logs, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Prepare Batches: Prepare completed batches with all required documentation for progression to subsequent operations on the Work Orders route.
  • Maintain Equipment: Perform preventive maintenance and follow manufacturer instructions to keep equipment in optimal condition.
  • Work Area Management: Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from obstructions, including proper storage and management of work in progress (WIP).
  • Shift Continuity: Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs to ensure smooth continuity between shifts.
  • Continuous Learning: Enhance job knowledge through participation in training and educational opportunities.
  • Cleaning and Packing: Perform cleaning and packing duties as required.
