Syntech Recruitment are partnering with an established business in Bristol to recruit a proactive, detail-oriented Credit Controller to join their finance team. The role offers a stable, structured position within a collaborative environment, focusing on managing business liquidity and driving positive cash flow. Working closely with the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will play a key role in proactively managing the sales ledger and resolving invoice queries.
Credit Controller Responsibilities
- Perform daily tracking of cash receipts, ensuring all payments are posted swiftly and accurately to the ledger.
- Produce and submit weekly sales ledger reports to the Head of Finance.
- Support new customer setups, including the establishment of credit accounts and payment terms.
- Act as the escalation point to the Head of Finance for overdue accounts or customer issues preventing payment resolution.
- Process sales orders and invoices into the general ledger as appropriate.
- Perform regular reconciliations of Balance Sheet ledger accounts.
- Assist with year-end preparation and procedures to support upcoming audits.
Credit Controller Requirements
- Proven experience working within a finance department or a similar, relevant industry role.
- A strong basic knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
- Highly proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Exceptionally organised with a proven ability to manage diverse workloads and adapt to changing priorities.
- A professional demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
- Prior experience using SAGE Accountancy software (or a similar relevant accounting package).
