We're recruiting for a Machine Shop Cleaner to join a well-established precision engineering business based in Ascot. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining a clean and safe working environment and is looking for a long-term opportunity. Initially offered on a part-time basis, this role is expected to become a full-time, permanent 45-hour-per-week position after approximately six months.

The Role
You'll play a key role in ensuring the machine shop, production areas and communal facilities are kept clean, organised and safe, helping to maintain a high standard across the site.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning machine shop floors, production areas, offices, kitchens and washrooms
- Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming and mopping throughout the facility
- Emptying swarf into designated swarf bins
- Emptying waste bins and disposing of rubbish safely
- Restocking washrooms and cleaning consumables
- Washing cleaning cloths, dusters and floor rags
- Monitoring cleaning stock levels and notifying when replenishment is required
- Carrying out scheduled deep cleaning and disinfection tasks
- Ensuring cleaning chemicals are stored safely and in line with COSHH guidelines
- Assisting with occasional manual handling and heavier lifting duties when required
What We're Looking For
- Previous cleaning, janitorial or industrial cleaning experience is beneficial
- Happy working within a busy engineering or manufacturing environment
- Physically fit and comfortable with occasional heavy lifting
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive attitude
- Good understanding of health and safety practices
