Salary: £13.00 - £13.50 per hour depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 12:00pm (25 hours per week)

We're recruiting for a Machine Shop Cleaner to join a well-established precision engineering business based in Ascot. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining a clean and safe working environment and is looking for a long-term opportunity. Initially offered on a part-time basis, this role is expected to become a full-time, permanent 45-hour-per-week position after approximately six months.

The Role

You'll play a key role in ensuring the machine shop, production areas and communal facilities are kept clean, organised and safe, helping to maintain a high standard across the site.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning machine shop floors, production areas, offices, kitchens and washrooms
  • Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming and mopping throughout the facility
  • Emptying swarf into designated swarf bins
  • Emptying waste bins and disposing of rubbish safely
  • Restocking washrooms and cleaning consumables
  • Washing cleaning cloths, dusters and floor rags
  • Monitoring cleaning stock levels and notifying when replenishment is required
  • Carrying out scheduled deep cleaning and disinfection tasks
  • Ensuring cleaning chemicals are stored safely and in line with COSHH guidelines
  • Assisting with occasional manual handling and heavier lifting duties when required

What We're Looking For

  • Previous cleaning, janitorial or industrial cleaning experience is beneficial
  • Happy working within a busy engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Physically fit and comfortable with occasional heavy lifting
  • Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive attitude
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices
