In this role, you won’t just be checking boxes—you will be the final line of defence for high-spec Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) destined for critical, high-performance industries like Aerospace, Defence, Medical, and Automotive.
Operating from advanced manufacturing facilities (CIL House & Blueprint 2), you will utilise cutting-edge automated testing equipment and microscopic visual techniques to ensure every complex electronic assembly is flawless before it hits the market.
Shift & Location
- Location: Andover
- Hours (Early Shift): Monday – Thursday: 06:00 AM – 2:15 PM & Friday: 06:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Enjoy an early finish every Friday!)
Responsibilities
- Advanced Equipment Operation: Command high-tech inspection machinery, including AOI (Automated Optical Inspection), FPT (Flying Probe Testing), QUINS, and X-Ray systems to diagnose and verify complex electronic circuitry.
- Microscopic Diagnostics: Conduct deep-dive visual inspections via high-magnification microscopes and digital cameras to identify minute defects, component misalignments, or soldering anomalies.
- Engineering Feedback Loop: Analyze defects and provide clear, technical feedback to the SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and soldering teams to optimise the assembly process and prevent future errors.
- IPC Quality Standards: Ensure all assemblies comply strictly with rigorous IPC industry standards and assist with technical investigations into customer returns or component failures.
- System Calibration: Manage the routine calibration, upkeep, and general maintenance of your advanced testing and inspection suite.
Experience & Skills
- Electronics Background: Proven experience in electronics inspection, quality control, or electronic equipment testing.
- Microscope Proficiency: Confident and comfortable performing high-precision visual inspections under a microscope for extended periods.
- Technical & Digital Literacy: Computer literate with the capability to interpret complex digital work instructions, data policies, and technical schematics.
- Desirable Extras: Prior experience programming or operating AOI, Flying Probe, or X-Ray machinery, or the ability to fault-find electronics down to the component level.
