GIS Architect – Telco – Migration Specialist Newbury (Hybrid) 6 months Contract £450/day Outside IR35 We are seeking an experienced GIS Architect with deep expertise in Migration Specialist (GE Smallworld to Esri) for a hybrid role requiring 1–2 days per week or when required onsite at the Newbury office. Immediate start date, preferably in May 2025. The successful candidate will have a strong background in deep knowledge of GE Smallworld and Esri platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading global consultancy specialising in Digital, IT, and Network Services. Key Skills & Experience: Proven expertise in both GE Smallworld (Magik, GSS, GSSServer, PNI) and Esri ArcGIS (Pro, Enterprise, Portal). Strong experience in spatial data models, FME, PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, or similar. Knowledge of Telco networks (especially fixed-line or fibre) and related inventory models. Familiarity with agile project methodologies and DevOps practices. Experience designing APIs or middleware integration for GIS. TOGAF or similar architecture certification is a plus. Define end-to-end architecture for GIS system transitions, with deep knowledge of GE Smallworld and Esri platforms. Design data migration strategies, toolchains, and transformation pipelines for large-scale spatial data. Establish integration patterns for GIS with OSS/BSS systems, enterprise data lakes, and external APIs. Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and data governance policies. Evaluate and recommend commercial/open-source GIS migration tools. Role Overview: You will lead the architectural design and execution of GIS platform transitions, primarily focused on migrations between GE Smallworld and Esri ArcGIS platforms.
