The place to work in pathology. We are looking for top talent to join the UK’s leading and fastest growing pathology company – a scientific organisation with a clinical purpose. Working in partnership with our service partners, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, King’s College Hospital and Princess Royal University Hospital we aim to set the standard for the future of pathology.

Join Synnovis at a pivotal moment in the transformation of genomic medicine across the South East. We are delivering a new enterprise Genomics LIMS that will modernise laboratory operations, replace outdated systems, and fully integrate with the Trust’s Epic EPR. This role offers the rare chance to shape a nationally significant digital genomics platform removing manual workflows, improving patient safety, and creating a cutting‑edge environment for genomic testing. As Project Manager, you will work at the heart of a high‑profile programme involving clinical, scientific, and digital teams. You will influence how genomic services are delivered for years to come, driving meaningful improvements in turnaround times, clinical quality, and digital capability. If you thrive in complex, high‑impact environments and want a role that directly contributes to the NHS genomics future, this is the ideal next step.

You will manage the delivery of the Phoenix Genomics LIMS, a hybrid Epic Beaker and Projodis solution that will standardise workflows across the SE GMS network. The role covers planning, configuration, data migration, testing, training, and go‑live activities. You’ll coordinate multidisciplinary teams, oversee integrations with the Epic EPR and national digital genomics platforms, and ensure compliance with ISO15189, NHS England GMS standards, and information governance requirements. You will support clinicians and scientists in harmonising workflows, transitioning from legacy LIMS, and embedding new ways of working. You will contribute to the delivery of in‑house Whole Genome Sequencing by ensuring the LIMS is sequencing‑ready. Working closely with Trust Digital, Synnovis IT, and specialist vendors, you’ll drive delivery to contractual and funding timelines, ensuring the programme maintains momentum and achieves its strategic benefits.

Synnovis is a partnership between SYNLAB UK & Ireland and leading NHS Trusts across South East London. We serve more than 1.7 million people with diagnostic and digital pathology services. Our teams are collaborative, ambitious, and deeply committed to improving outcomes through science and innovation. You will be based at our Blackfriars Hub, our state‑of‑the‑art pathology centre working alongside operational, scientific, IT, and digital pathology leaders. We offer strong professional development pathways, including The Synnovis Way, apprenticeship support, funded technical and leadership qualifications, and access to innovation funding that supports new scientific or digital initiatives. By joining Synnovis now, you’ll help transform one of the UK’s most important genomics services while advancing your career in a rapidly growing, future‑focused field.

You will have a suite of learning opportunities available through The Synnovis Way Development programme which is used across Synnovis to enable you to reach your potential, learn new skills and achieve your goals. This is managed between you and your line manager in line with your own personal and professional development ambitions. You can apply for finance to drive innovation and service development for the benefit of patients through our Innovation Accelerator Fund.

At Synnovis, we are currently shaping the future of pathology services by creating a world-leading Hub and Spoke pathology network with our NHS partners. A large part of this modernisation will involve moving 70% of our services to a purpose built, state of the art Hub laboratory in the heart of London. For now, the job you are applying for will be based at our Hub laboratory in Blackfriars, Southwark, SE1.

  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of the Genomics LIMS project, ensuring alignment with Synnovis, Trust, and national genomics requirements.
  • Manage integration of Epic Beaker and Projodis workflows, including configuration, validation, and cross‑site harmonisation.
  • Oversee data migration, testing phases, risk and issue management, governance reporting, and change control.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO15189, UK GDPR, DSPT, NHS England GMS standards, and CCN governance requirements.
  • Coordinate operational readiness, SOP updates, training, and transition to new digital workflows.
  • Manage vendors, internal technical teams, clinical/scientific leads, and external stakeholders.
