We are seeking highly motivated Clinical Bioinformaticians to join our expanding Bioinformatics team at the South East Genomic Laboratory Hub (SEGLH). These positions will be based at either Guy’s Hospital or King’s College Hospital, with a planned consolidation to a hub at Blackfriars. The roles support clinical diagnostics services at Guy’s and King’s College Hospitals, focusing on rare diseases and cancer diagnostics. Responsibilities include developing and troubleshooting somatic and germline pipelines, managing applications supporting diagnostics, and handling large datasets for reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience with NGS pipelines, large datasets, programming, and troubleshooting. Good communication skills, initiative, quality support, and workload prioritization are essential. The role requires attention to detail and organizational skills. Applicants should have attained or be working towards HCPC registration. Final-year STP trainees or those with MSc or PhD in relevant fields and bioinformatics experience are encouraged to apply. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team valued in Synnovis Genomics. The successful candidate will support existing diagnostic services and participate in assay and technology development. The role involves maintaining bioinformatics pipelines for NGS data processing at both hospitals, supporting services for the Genomic Medicine Service, and collaborating with clinical scientists on developing and validating diagnostic tests. The role includes software development, cloud infrastructure, local databases, and latest technologies. We offer flexible, hybrid working. The posts are based at Guy’s or King’s College Hospital, with occasional travel to other Synnovis sites.
