We are seeking a HCPC‑registered Principal Clinical Scientist with expertise in Mycology to lead the Mycology service at our Blackfriars Hub.

The Role Involves:

  • Leading validation, implementation and evaluation of new molecular and non‑molecular diagnostic assays, ensuring ISO 15189 and CEIVD/UKCA compliance.
  • Overseeing change control processes and managing efficient workflows to meet project deadlines.
  • Collaborating with service managers, clinical leads and biomedical scientists to deliver a high‑quality diagnostic service.
  • Providing training and supervision to laboratory staff and integrating new assays into the Beaker LIMS.
  • Maintaining laboratory’s quality management system, documenting SOPs and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Participating in service development meetings, contributing to the Target Operating Model and service migration plans to the Hub.

Qualifications:

  • HCPC registered Principal Clinical Scientist with evidence of Mycology expertise.
  • Strong experience in assay validation, change control and workflow optimisation.
  • Knowledge of ISO 15189, CEIVD/UKCA regulations and laboratory information management systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and project management skills.
