As Shift Analyst, you join a round‑the‑clock quality control team to support Huddersfield production with analytical capabilities.
You will perform routine and non‑routine analyses across diverse samples, ensuring data integrity and regulatory compliance.
You’ll plan workload, troubleshoot issues, and support satellite labs while maintaining safe, compliant lab operations.
The role combines hands‑on analysis with procedural discipline, contributing to reliable plant performance and product quality.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine analysis of final, process control, experimental and effluent samples using multiple analytical techniques while meeting HSEQ and business standards
- Plan own workload and manage sample lead-times, escalating to Lead Shift Analyst or QC Team Leader as needed
- Provide first‑line troubleshooting to restore analytical service quickly; escalate when required
- Support satellite plant laboratories with analytical needs
- Maintain standard work, including equipment calibration, stock control, and safe lab practices
- Carry out tanker sampling and analysis (where authorised)
- Assist with incident management duties under Duty Manager guidance
- Key requirements
- Practical experience with a wide range of analytical laboratory techniques
- Excellent practical skills in GC, LC, and auto-titrations
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- BSc Honours Degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience
