This is a handsâon leadership role responsible for the health and wellbeing of the workforce at our Grangemouth manufacturing site. As Occupational Health Manager, you will run the full occupational health function - from health surveillance and fitnessâforâwork assessments to trend analysis, policy ownership, and wellbeing programmes - ensuring the site meets its legal obligations while genuinely supporting the people who work here.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the occupational health department including equipment, budgets, stock, and clinical contracts.
- Own and maintain occupational health policies, procedures, and confidential medical data management.
- Conduct health surveillance, preâemployment medicals, fitnessâforâwork assessments, and returnâtoâwork evaluations.
- Provide specialist advice to line managers and HR on ill health, sickness absence, and workplace adjustments.
- Analyse health surveillance data to identify emerging trends and implement mitigating actions.
- Lead monthly health and wellbeing promotion programmes across the site.
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, GDPR, and Syngenta codes of practice.
- Liaise with the Occupational Health Physician for escalated cases and manage referrals accordingly.
- Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Postâgraduate qualification in Occupational Health.
- Proven experience in an occupational health facility, including health surveillance techniques.
- Familiarity with RIDDOR reportable cases and relevant UK legislation.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities.
- Clear, confident communicator able to engage effectively at all levels of the organisation.
- Good understanding of occupational hygiene and the link between health and workplace environment.
