Job Description

Syngenta's Dietary Risk Assessment team is seeking a Dietary Safety Assessor based in Jealott's Hill. In this role, you will ensure the safety and regulatory compliance of our crop protection products across the European market, directly contributing to the success of farmers and the sustainability of agriculture.
- Undertake dietary risk assessment projects for the Europe team, delivering timely safety inputs that drive European and global business objectives.
- Prepare and critically review dietary safety sections of regulatory dossiers for EU plant protection product registrations, renewals, and lifecycle management.
- Contribute to innovative solutions and strategies to address complex cross-functional challenges and champion science-based regulatory positions.
- Communicate scientific outcomes and regulatory positions to internal stakeholders and regulatory meetings.
- Represent Syngenta at regulatory forums and build productive relationships with EU authorities (competent authorities, EFSA, European Commission).
- Stay at the forefront of EU regulations (Reg 1107/2009, EFSA guidance), scientific developments, and emerging issues in dietary risk assessment and human safety.
- Actively participate in industry task forces, working groups, and scientific initiatives.
Qualifications
- D. in toxicology, food science, chemistry, biology, or related life science discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in consumer/human safety assessment, preferably within the agrochemical, pharmaceutical, or food safety sectors.
Technical Excellence:
- Working knowledge of EU regulatory frameworks and dietary risk assessment methodologies for plant protection products.
- Strong scientific writing skills with expertise in critical data interpretation and risk assessment of chemical substances.
- Understanding of EU regulations (Reg 1107/2009, EFSA guidance) and ability to stay current with evolving scientific developments.
- Experience representing organizations in regulatory forums and engaging with EU authorities (competent authorities, EFSA, European Commission).
Communication Excellence:
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts for diverse audiences.
Strategic Innovation:
- Ability to think strategically, develop creative solutions, and navigate complex problems in dynamic regulatory environments.
